CBD Oils

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is an active, natural constituent found in marijuana. It was isolated by Dr. Stanley Karnow of the Marijuana Research Institute at the University of Mississippi in the 1940s. It is one of only 113 identified cannabinoids so far in marijuana plants. It has not yet been determined if the CBD can be useful in treating a wide range of health conditions and is still being studied by the medical community.

The only evidence that CBD can help with certain medical conditions comes from animal studies conducted by medical professionals in the medical community. They have concluded that CBD has anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-epileptic, anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic, anti-spastic and neuroprotective activity and can help treat Alzheimer's disease.

However, many medical experts and marijuana reform advocates are skeptical about claims of CBD's potential to help treat a wide range of conditions. Some researchers claim that CBD may not be helpful in treating certain medical conditions due to its psychoactive nature. Others question the use of CBD to treat patients suffering from epilepsy, glaucoma, cancer and MS. These concerns notwithstanding, CBD continues to be a popular ingredient in herbal dietary supplements and has been shown to have a positive effect on some medical conditions.

Several medical experts and advocates claim that the claims made by CBD proponents are based on speculation and that it is simply too early to draw any conclusions about the safety of CBD. Still, there are some strong arguments for CBD's use in treating medical conditions.

For instance, CBD appears to be beneficial in treating seizures caused by multiple sclerosis and in treating other medical conditions such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel disease. Recent tests have also indicated that CBD may help relieve pain associated with fibromyalgia. In a recent study, CBD has also been shown to help increase the effectiveness of some medications used to treat arthritis pain. Also, in clinical studies of HIV patients, it has been shown to be effective at reducing pain and controlling symptoms of fever.

However, it is still unclear whether CBD has any effect on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. And while there is some evidence that CBD can have analgesicogenic or aphrothegenic effects, this evidence is not conclusive. Thus, it is not clear if the benefits of CBD outweigh the potential risks. of using CBD to treat a wide range of medical conditions. At the time of this writing, there is no established evidence that CBD has any impact on symptoms of depression, insomnia, anxiety, epilepsy, or other sleep disorders.
